[1] Vollard was making trips to purchase Cassatt's studio works directly from her around 1906-1913.
[2] It is possible that Petiet purchased the works from the heirs of Vollard who died in 1939. Around 1940 Petiet began selling and gifting works by Cassatt to other institutions.
