The Sacra Pagina series aims to provide "sound critical analysis without losing sensitivity to religious meaning". Each section of the works under this title includes an introduction, followed by a summary of the contents, after which the exegesis proper begins. The author gives his translation, interpretation, and notes on each verse. The exegesis presented in the notes is supplemented by valuable quotations from the early Church Fathers, as well as contemporary reflections on how the text in question can be applied to church life. Each section concludes with a bibliography pointing the reader to works for further study.
