Le nom propre dans l’œuvre de Jean Sénac

Our article aims at determining the particular role of proper nouns in the writings of Jean Senac, by a textual approach which rests primarily on the description of the operation of proper nouns, on three different levels : syntactic, stylistic and semantic. The permanent use of the proper name is a method of writing at Senac whose originality lies in the fact that it can’t do without the use of proper names. Senac proposes a literature which gives to the proper name a very particular function, which confirms the abundance of proper names in his work. This is related to his identity obsession manifested in writing by a quest for the proper name, that of his unknown father. In many respects, syntactic, stylistic, semantic and symbolic, the functioning of proper names demonstrates that they have very varied roles in the literature and that their analysis is not always systematic because the interpretive effects are different for the various contexts.
