Livability of street vendors

AbstractIn the informal economy, street sellers are essential. They provide essential goods and services to communities while also contributing to the local economy, highlighting their significant role in the informal economy by providing essential goods and services. Despite their contributions, street vendors face numerous challenges that affect their quality of life. However, their livelihoods are often subject to various challenges and constraints, which can impact their overall quality of life. The objective of the study is to know the livability position of street vendors and to identify the financial stability of street vendors in Pollachi town. Statistical analysis, including simple percentage calculations, chi-square tests, and correlation analysis, was conducted on the primary data collected. The findings indicate a positive correlation between the possession of bank accounts and the use of online payment methods with the overall livability of street vendors. This study advocates for measures to enhance the livability of street vendors, thereby promoting their economic empowerment and enriching the vibrancy and diversity of urban environments.
