"Climate change and the consumption of resources have caused to be focused on zero waste management and circular economy. The aim of this study is to reveal the approaches to circular economy and zero waste management in the world and in our country. The European Union develops the legislative infrastructure, also prepares and implements action plans to enable its member countries to transition to circular economy and develop sustainable waste management models. In our country, the developments in the world are closely followed, and the legislative infrastructure is developed in this direction. In addition, actions are taken on the necessary practices to fight against climate change and transition to a circular economy with the current legislation and action plans. In the study, the general framework for Zero Waste Management and Circular Economy in the world and the principles adopted by the countries, the practices of our country in this direction, the legislative developments in recent years and the actions taken are evaluated. Practices in countries such as Germany, Italy, England and the USA, as well as the Zero Waste Project, Zero Waste Blue Project, Mandatory Deposit Management System and Green Deal Action Plan in our country, and in some sectors within the scope of transition to circular economy are given. Zero waste management and circular economy are directly related issues, and when a circular economy approach is adopted in waste and resource management, resource consumption and primary raw material usage will be reduced. In addition, a significant part of the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN Development Program and the fight against climate change will be contributed."
