In menstruating adolescents, iron will be lost by an average of 0. 5 mg every day, this causes a lack of iron intake so that there is a great risk of iron deficiency anemia. The administration of Fe tablets that are taken regularly by adolescents during menstruation is expected to prevent anemia in adolescents. The function of iron is for the formation of red blood cells. Reticulocyte examination was used to assess the bone marrow response to anemia by comparing the number of reticulocytes per 1000 erythrocytes. This study aims to determine the comparison of the number of reticucytes in women of childbearing age with and without Fe tablets. The type of research chosen was a comparative analytical research with a sample of 30 AAK Pekalongan students by double sampling which was divided into 2 groups (15 female students were given Fe tablet enhancers and 15 female students were not) the tablets were given for 3 days. The results of the comparison of the number of reticulocytes in women of childbearing age with and without the administration of Fe tablets obtained before the administration of Fe tablets 6 samples below normal values. After administering Fe tabet, 28 samples (93. 3%) experienced an increase in the number of reticuloccytes. The number of reticulocytes with the administration of Fe tablets increased with an average yield of 0. 64%, the number of reticucytes without administration of Fe tablets was normal or decreased with an average yield of 0. 49%, there was a difference between the number of reticucytes in women of childbearing age with and without Fe tablets with a difference in results of 0. 15%
