La crise sahélienne / Crisis in the Sahel

L'espace sahélien est un milieu à risques. La violence de la crise actuelle est due à la conjonction de plusieurs facteurs naturels et anthropiques : déficit pluviométrique sans précédent, surcharge du cheptel, explosion démographique, choc de la modernité qui entraîne une sédentarisation forcée des nomades et une urbanisation sauvage. Pour dénouer cette crise il faut œuvrer dans trois directions : assurer une meilleure gestion de l'eau, restaurer le couvert végétal et maîtriser la démographie
