From the Life of the Smolensk Writers' Organization: the Almanac «Literary Smolensk»

The subject of the article is the almanac «Literary Smolensk», published in 1940–1957. «Literary Smolensk» is a unique poetic and prose platform for professionals and aspiring authors. On its pages in the middle of the 20th century members of the literary community of the region published their works, which contributed to the further promotion and formation of new Smolensk talents. The aim of the analysis is to find out the circumstances under which the almanac appeared and the preference of topics. The published minutes of various meetings of the Smolensk writers' organisation in the 1940s–1950s help us to find out how the information agenda of the almanac was formed. They allow us to form an idea of the peculiarities of the development of literature and journalism in the Smolensk region in the middle of the 20th century.
