A Student Guide to Chaucer’s Middle English represents the decades-long material that Professor Peter G. Beidler developed to help his students at Lehigh University understand the dialect of Middle English Chaucer used for his poetry. Professor Beidler wrote and revised several pamphlets over the course of his career, with the assistance of two generations of his students, that provide a basic understanding of the vocabulary, structure, grammar, pronunciation, and history of Middle English, helping students gain greater accesss tudents access to the full power, meaning, and beauty of Chaucer’s fun and profound poetry.
