George William Frederick Charles (26 March 1819-17 March 1904), 2nd Duke of Cambridge, KG., KT., KP., PC., CGSI., GCMG., GCH., GCIE., GVCO, Field Marshall in the Army 1862, Chief Personal ADC to Edward VII, Commander in Charge of British Forces 1856-95. Ranger of St. James's, Green, Hyde, and Richmond Parks. Born at Hanover, where his father, Prince Adolphus, the 7th son of George III and Queen Charlotte, was Viceroy. The Duke was wayward in his marriage arrangements and was actually married in contravention of the Royal Marriage Act. His wife, known as Mrs. Fitzgeorge, was an actress. She died 12 January 1890 and like the Duke is buried at Kensal Green. Frederick Duke of Mecklenburg Strelitz. Frederick William KG., GCB (12 October 1819-30 May 1904) Married 28 June 1843 to Augusta of Cambridge (d. 5 December 1916), Queen Mary's aunt. The Duke was made a Knight of the Order of the Garter on 12 August 1862.
