Wooden cuts. Pigment on paper. A thin paper, rectangular in shape. The motif depicts three women (probably Geishor) about practicing music. The string instrument on the floor is a koto (Str). The other two instruments are the stringed instrument shamisen (alternatively samisen, cuneiform) and kokyu (De). Shamisen is played on with a plektrum and kokyu with a string. The print comes from a series called “the four arts” dated to around 1772 - 1775. This print has been decorated with a thin frame in black paper and textile at unknown time.

Belonged to collection of images 321.å (321.aa) donated to the Ethnographic Museum by Folke Cronholm 940125 decided to incorporate the wooden cuts in collection 1936.21.
Been exhibited in 1968 in the exhibition UKI-YO-E Images of Liquid Life. Has no. 57 in the exhibition catalog.
