Beauty plays an important role in one’s life. The spiritual comport that is available in seeing beautiful scenes, valleys and people cannot be expressed in words. One can claim about the beauty of a person, flower or valley. But if someone asks him as to which standard or scale has been used by him for his claim, then, surely, he will not have a definite and reasonable answer. The answer for defining the criteria of beauty can only be given by aesthetics, several terminologies from psychology, sociology; economics, politics and the philosophy have now become part of the literature. In Literature, the term of aesthetics has come from philosophy, and now it is practical as an important term in literature. This article not only discusses the beginning of the term of aesthetic and different view of the critics about beauty, but also discusses different important theories about the Aesthetics. Different theories of beauty which are discussed in this article are Objective, Subjective and Alexander’s theories of beauty.
