Western influences on modern Urdu short story writers

Modern Urdu Short story is an important literary trend that emerged in the second half of the twentieth century, which, breaking away from tradition, made the inner world of man, psychological states and existential problems the center of its expression. The partition of India, industrial development, scientific revolution, world wars and changing social and cultural conditions had a profound impact on the themes and style of modern fiction.
