<div> The Problem of Speculative Tokenomics in Decentralized Science (DeSci) and Possible Solutions </div>
View through CrossRef
The article addresses the problem of speculative tokenomics in decentralized science (DeSci) projects. Based on an analysis of existing approaches (Gupta, 2025; Weidener & Boltz, 2025), the author identifies a key contradiction between the governance functions of a token and its role as a speculative asset. An alternative model is proposed in which the token acts as a "digital receipt" confirming real contribution, and governance is separated from staking. The model includes deflationary stabilization mechanisms (burning 50% of fees), three-component staking, and a community-managed grant fund. The results can be used in the design of sustainable DeSci platforms.
