Tämä artikkeli rakentaa uutta näkökulmaa omaehtoiseen kaupunkiaktivismiin painottamalla kolmea näkökulmaa: tilallisuutta, poliittista toimijuutta ja elämäntapaa. Esitämme, että aktivisteja ajaa toimintaan näkemys vaihtoehtoisista tavoista elää kaupungissa. Käytämme vertauskuvana ITE-taidetta; aktivistien pyrkimystä luoda ja rakentaa “itse tehtyä elämää” omassa elinympäristössään. Kirjoitus esittää, että kaupunkiaktivismi on arvokasta itsessään sekä tekijöille itselleen että yhteiskunnalle.
