Developing a strategic plan for Afghanistan championship Sports

This study seeks to develop a strategic plan of the Department of Physical Education in the field of championship sports in Afghanistan. This research is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive in terms of data collection. The statistical population of the study consisted of all technical and professional managers of the Sport Department and physical education professors of Afghanistan, numbering 20 people. According to the purpose of the research, the sample members were selected using purposive sampling method and the research data were collected using the opinions of these people. In this study, a combination of qualitative methods (open questionnaire and interview) and quantitative methods (coefficient and ranking) were used to collect and analyze the data. The face and content validity of these questionnaires was confirmed by 8 sports management professors and then the questionnaires were distributed among the members of the statistical sample of the research. The research tools were semi-structured interviews with the members of the statistical sample of the research, an open-ended questionnaire to identify internal and external factors, a questionnaire for scoring internal and external factors, and a questionnaire for strategy extraction. To provide descriptive information, frequency indices, percentages, graphs and tables were used. To analyze the research data based on the subject, internal and external factors evaluation matrix, strategic positioning matrix and Toews matrix were used. The strategic council of the research extracted the desirable strategies by determining the importance and rank of each of the factors and determining the strategic position of the Physical Education Department in the championship sports sector and by matching internal and external factors. In addition, the vision and mission statement of the championship sport were determined. According to the final score of the internal factors evaluation matrix (1.90) and the external factors evaluation matrix (2.09), it was found that the strategic location of the Afghan championship sport is located in the WT region. Finally, according to the findings of the research, and especially considering the strategic position and discussion in the meetings of the Strategic Council, desirable strategies for championship sports were developed.
