Performance of Nano urea plus and Prilled urea on growth, yield and economics of Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

View through CrossRef
A field experiment entitled “Performance of nano urea plus and prilled urea in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)” was conducted during the Rabi season of 2024-25 at the Agricultural Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, R.B.S. College, Bichpuri, Agra (U.P.). Twelve treatments, viz.Control (T1), Nano urea plus application @ 0.4% (4ml of Nano plus uera/ litre of water) at 45-50 DAS (T2), Prilled urea application @ 6.0% at 45-50 DAS (60 g of simple urea/litre of water) (T3), 50% RDN (T4), 50% RDN + Nano urea plus  application @ 0.4% at 45-50 DAS (T5), 50% RDN + Prilled urea application @ 6.0% at 45-50 DAS (T6), 75% RDN (T7),75% RDN + Nano urea plus application @ 0.4% at 45-50 DAS (T8), 75% RDN + Prilled urea application @ 6.0% at 45-50 DAS 100% (T9), 100% RDN (T10), 100% RDN + Nano urea plus application @ 0.4% at 45-50 DAS (T11) and100% RDN + Prilled urea application @ 6.0% at 45-50 DAS (T12). Thus, in all 12 treatments were compared in a randomized block design (RBD) with three replications. The results revealed that application of 75% RDN + Nano urea plus application @ 0.4% at 45-50 DAS (T8) recorded the maximum stand count, spike length, grains earhead-1, test weight, biological yield (146.62 q ha-1), grain yield (58.65 q ha-1), straw yield (87.97 q ha-1) and harvest index (40.00%), significantly superior to all other treatments, including 100% RDN alone. Treatment 75% RDN + Nano urea plus @ 0.4% at 45-50 DAS produced the highest gross income (₹177,414.3 ha-1), net return (₹126,458.25 ha-1) and B: C ratio (3.48).
