Colonel Queen's Own Worcestershire Imperial yeomanry. Lt. 2nd Life Guards. Married 3 August 1872 to Anne (9th daughter of Sir Charles des Voeux 2nd. Bt. Lord Sandys died without issue.

Educated at Eton, Mining Academy at Freiberg in Saxony, Trinity College, Cambridge. MP West Cornwell 1868-85.
