Subluxated Cosmetic IOL in the Vitreous Cavity in a Post-Traumatic Aniridia Patient: A Modified Fusion-Flanged Intrascleral Fixation Approach
View through CrossRef
Purpose:
To report a modified Fusion-Flanged intrascleral fixation technique for repositioning a subluxated cosmetic intraocular lens (IOL) in a patient with post-traumatic aniridia.
Methods:
A vitrectomized eye with a dislocated cosmetic IOL underwent repositioning using a Fusion-Flanged approach combining Yamane and double-flanged Canabrava elements.
Results:
The technique achieved stable IOL centration with improved vision and reduced photophobia. No intraoperative or postoperative complications occurred.
Conclusion:
This modified Fusion-Flanged method offers an effective and straightforward option for managing subluxated cosmetic IOLs in complex post-traumatic eyes.
