We communicate in a foreign language: for linguistic faculties

The textbook is developed on the basis of the analysis, generalization and systematization of domestic and foreign experience of teaching foreign languages, as a result of which the most effective exercises developing skills of intercultural communication among students studying a foreign language in universities were identified. Author's exercises are offered that form cognitive skills (semantic processing of information, intellectual activity, analytical and synthetic processing of information); skills of audiovisualization, visualization, abstract and summary reading, abstract and summary listening, abstract and summary audiovisualization, abstracting scientific information in a foreign language. It meets the requirements of the federal state educational standards of higher education of the latest generation, the educational standards of Moscow State University, aimed at training specialists who are able to successfully carry out intercultural communication in the field of their chosen specialty.
