AbstractSome Fauvel motets are also present in the later manuscripts Paris571 and the rotulus Br19606, with added minim stems. Some, including Floret/Florens (Ch. 6) and Trahunt in precipitia/An diex/Displicebat, are in what may be their original form, adapted in Fauvel. These adaptations are reviewed, along with other later copies of Fauvel motets and their notation, and the arguments that have been put forward for and against Vitry’s authorship of the three Marigny motets in Fauvel (Chs. 4 and 5), Floret (Ch. 6) and Orbis orbatus, which shares its opening with Aman novi. Vitry’s possible further role in hitherto unattributed Fauvel adaptations is suggested.
