Jaffa: House of Simon the tanner.

View through Europeana Collections
A postcard containing a colorful lithograph based on a black and white photograph, showing three figures around the well in the courtyard of Beit Shimon Stock Exchange, Jaffa. Apparently, this print is based on a black and white photograph made by Felix Bonfils in the late nineteenth century. The postcard was printed in three languages (French, English and German), while its back stated that it was printed in Leipzig, Germany. This postcard was not used and there is no information as to the time it was produced. Presumably it was printed at the beginning of the second decade of the 20th century, before World War I. The postcard was donated to the collection in May 1976 by Dr. Ezra Millgram.
