EVALUASI KESESUAIAN LAHAN TANAMAN PORANG (Amarphopallus ancophillus) DI KECAMATAN BUNGAYA KABUPATEN GOWA

Land evaluation is part of the land use planning process. In land use planning, it is necessary to know in advance potential and suitability of land for various types of land use. Therefore, by conducting a land evaluation, it is possible to know the potential of the land or land suitability class or land capability for land use the. This study aims to determine the level of land suitability of actual, potential and limiting factors on land units for porang plants in Bungaya District, Gowa Regency. The land survey was conducted with reference to land units, consisting of preparation of basic data, field exploration, soil description, soil sampling, laboratory analysis and land suitability assessment of porang plants. The research method is the FAO method which is carried out by collecting rainfall data for the last 5 years in Bungaya District obtained from the BMKG Maros and land use maps, soil type maps and slope maps obtained from BPKH (Forest Area Stabilization Center) Region II Makassar. The maps are overlaid so that 2 land units are obtained. Soil samples were analyzed in the laboratory including soil properties according to the information needed in land suitability research based on the FAO method. The data obtained are both secondary data and primary data which are then compared with the criteria for suitability of porang plantations according to FAO. The results showed that the land suitability of porang plants in Bungaya District, both for the Inceetisol and Alfisol soil types, was marginally compatible (S3f) with the limiting factor for C-organic nutrient retention. While the suitability of the potential land is quite suitable (S2r) with the limiting factor of the root media (soil texture)
