Por uma Educação Histórica Ambiental: a experiência do Projeto Narradores de Diogo Lopes na Reserva Ponta do Tubarão (RN)

This article analyzes the pedagogical experience developed at Escola Municipal Professora Luzia Bonifácio de Souza, located in the Ponta do Tubarão State Sustainable Development Reserve (Macau/RN, Brazil), through the interdisciplinary project Narradores de Diogo Lopes: a scientific construction of stories told across generations and the Environmental Awareness Activities. By articulating Environmental History, oral history, and critical Environmental Education, the study examines how students build historical and ecological representations of their territory, recognizing themselves as agents of memory and transformation. This qualitative research, grounded in the framework of historical education, combined document analysis, participant observation, and interdisciplinary practices. Results indicate that integrating historical-environmental approaches into the school curriculum strengthens ecological awareness and the sense of belonging, fostering citizenship education and the appreciation of local knowledge.
