Pengaruh Academic Self-Efficacy terhadap Stres Akademik pada Mahasiswa Skripsi Fakultas Kedokteran

Abstract. Final-year medical students working on their theses face high levels of academic stress due to the burden of completing their final assignments and the demands of a dense and complex curriculum, which can trigger academic stress. This study aims to analyze the influence of academic self-efficacy on academic stress among final-year medical students in Bandung who are writing their theses. The study employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design and cross-sectional data collection techniques. Data were collected from 212 respondents using convenience sampling. The instruments used were the Indonesian Academic Self-Efficacy Scale (TIASS) based on Zajacova et al.'s (2005) theory and the Student-Life Stress Inventory (SLSI) based on Gadzella and Masten's (2005) theory. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) through SmartPLS 4 software. The results of the study indicate that most students have low levels of academic self-efficacy, which contributes to high academic stress. There is a significant influence between academic self-efficacy and academic stressors (β = -.592) and reactions to academic stressors (β = -.653). These findings confirm that the higher students' confidence in their abilities, the lower their stress levels. Strengthening academic self-efficacy can be an effective coping strategy. Abstrak. Mahasiswa kedokteran tingkat akhir yang sedang mengerjakan skripsi menghadapi stres akademik yang tinggi akibat beban penyelesaian tugas akhir serta tuntutan kurikulum yang padat dan kompleks, yang dapat memicu stres akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh academic self-efficacy terhadap stres akademik pada mahasiswa kedokteran tingkat akhir di Kota Bandung yang sedang menyusun skripsi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional serta teknik pengumpulan data secara cross-sectional. Data dikumpulkan dari 212 responden menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah The Indonesian Academic Self-Efficacy Scale (TIASS) berdasarkan pada teori Zajacova et al. (2005) dan Student-Life Stress Inventory (SLSI) berdasarkan teori Gadzella dan Masten (2005). Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) melalui perangkat lunak SmartPLS 4. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa memiliki tingkat academic self-efficacy yang rendah, yang turut berkontribusi pada tingginya stres akademik. Terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara academic self-efficacy terhadap stresor akademik (β = -.592) dan reaksi terhadap stresor akademik (β = -.653). Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa semakin tinggi keyakinan mahasiswa terhadap kemampuannya, semakin rendah tingkat stres yang mereka alami. Penguatan academic self-efficacy dapat menjadi strategi koping yang efektif.
