<p><em>L’Europe Unie / United Europe</em>, Issue 18 (2022), examines the interaction between historical diplomacy, European integration, and contemporary security challenges. The volume combines a longue durée perspective with present-day EU policy analysis. It opens with a study on <span>Napoleon Bonaparte</span>’s Egyptian expedition and its diplomatic impact on Tunis, highlighting the strategic positioning of Hammouda Bey within the Ottoman and Euro-Mediterranean system.</p> <p>The issue then shifts to contemporary security, analysing EU–NATO cooperation against hybrid threats after 2014, with a focus on Eastern Partnership countries (Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova). A complementary contribution evaluates Romanian digital diplomacy and its role in countering disinformation, demonstrating structural limits in public communication strategies.</p> <p>Further, the volume explores EU competition policy as a mechanism of integration in Central and Eastern Europe, emphasising legal harmonisation during accession.
