Empowerment Through Education Among Tribal Women of Tripura

<div> This paper makes an attempt to justify the over-all impact of tribal women’s education in </div> <div> Tripura by which the women empowerment in case of tribal women can be achieved. </div> <div> Education is a key to success for the empowerment of tribal women, who reside in the hilly, </div> <div> terrain and far-flung remote areas. As a matter of fact, in a patriarchal society, the role of </div> <div> females is always subordinated in comparison to their male counterparts, despite the fact that </div> <div> they contributed substantially in every spheres of developmental activities. In India and </div> <div> especially in Tripura, the tribal women are not empowered with greater opportunities, </div> <div> because they lag far behind from their male counterparts in the matters of literacy and quality </div> <div> education. This type of discriminatory behaviour on the basis of gender parameter produced </div> <div> abundant problems of empowerment among the tribal women of Tripura. </div> <div> It is observed that like other parts of India, Tripura also lacks in the field of tribal women’s </div> <div> empowerment. Still the percentage of tribal women of Tripura in various white-coloured jobs </div> <div> seems to be negligible due to their backwardness in education. Either be the aspects of </div> <div> political representation or social status; either be the aspects of economic empowerment or </div> <div> educational opportunities; they form the level of minority. </div> <div> This paper also explains in detail about the social, cultural and economic impacts of the lives </div> <div> of tribal women of Tripura, which is the outcome of their backwardness in education. This is </div> <div> why, it is an urgent need of the hour that the tribal women of this state must be imparted </div> <div> quality education in order to get the maximum benefit of empowerment. Swami Vivekananda </div> <div> has rightly observed, “There is no chance of the welfare of the world unless the condition of </div> <div> women is improved.
