Cinerarium with Lid

Bulbous jar with ovoid body, with largest diameter 18.5cm, narrowing to a flat base (diameter 10cm). The rim splays out in a broad horizontal flange with squared lip, above a short neck. The ends of two opposing handles are attached at the sloping shoulder, each making an inverted ‘u’ shape with oval cross sections and a central rib on top. Made from free-blown blue-green glass, the jar is intact and the (thin, flat, ‘bottle-neck’-shaped) lid is present. There are pale beige-colored accretions, especially on the shoulders of the jar and on the handles, and some iridescence inside the top of the jar.
