Batik pattern: Delereng or Caluntang

The name for this batik pattern is Delèrèng or Caluntang. It is a highly stylized Parang pattern, machete pattern, where the Parang points are replaced by loop-shaped figures. The looped figures are brown on a white background. Furthermore, the pattern consists of oblique blue bands with brown leaves and brown bands, filled with white circles or with parallel blue transverse stripes. The border is called Upan-upan, like grains of rice.
