New insights into the distribution and the ecology of Cerastium siculum Guss. (Caryophyllaceae) / Nouveaux éléments sur la répartition et l’écologie de Cerastium siculum Guss. (Caryophyllaceae)

Cerastium siculum est une plante vasculaire méconnue de la côte méditerranéenne française. Une synthèse bibliographique complétée par la consultation de nombreux herbiers a permis d’établir sa distribution mondiale (France, Corse, Italie, Sicile, Sardaigne). Ce travail conduit à considérer C. siculum comme une espèce tyrrhénienne présente uniquement en Italie et en France. Son écologie a également été clarifiée et montre que l’espèce pousse sur un substrat sablolimoneux à simono-sableux sans sel, à pH neutre et avec une végétation basse maintenue par une charge pastorale (habitat principal). Cependant, il peut aussi pousser sur des habitats marginaux dans des dunes de sable ou sur la crête sablonneuse de petits ruisseaux.
