Acclaimed publisher and editor Neil Astley, founder of Bloodaxe Books, guest-edits this special transatlantic all-poetry issue, featuring poets from North America, Great Britain, and Ireland. The issue contains a stirring diversity of work, with writers who have roots everywhere from Guyana to Pakistan to Zambia, and also features poetry in Welsh, Irish, and Scottish Gaelic. Much of the work is from accomplished British poets who are still little-known in the States. As Astley writes in his introduction, the issue aims to break down “the illogical divide between readerships on either side of the Atlantic,” and spark a conversation that will enliven and invigorate both poetic traditions.

Abstract. The analysis of mid-ocean ridges and hotspots that are sourced by

Monte-Carlo Model of Europa's Water Vapor Plumes
AbstractIt has long been postulated that Europa might have a sub-surface ocean covered by an icy crust. First clues for the existence of such a sub-surface ocean were obtained by t...

New Insights into Global Plume Buoyancy and Heat Fluxes from Numerical Models of Plume-Lithosphere Interaction
Earth's dynamic evolution is controlled by the interplay between mantle convection and plate tectonics. While subducted plates stir the mantle, upwelling plumes can lubricate, push...

Head-to-tail plume shrinking contributes to the Hawaiian-Emperor Bend and plume zonation
Abstract
The Hawaiian-Emperor Bend (HEB) is traditionally attributed to the motion of the Pacific plate over a fixed or drifting mantle plume. Yet, the role of the plume's ...
A novel model of volcanic plume evolution from high-temperature chemistry to reactive plume chemistry in the atmosphere
A novel model of volcanic plume evolution from high-temperature chemistry to reactive plume chemistry in the atmosphere
The first seconds of the interaction of volcanic gases with the atmosphere have so far often been drastically simplified, e.g., by assuming thermochemical equilibrium. In this peri...
