Costas Coulentianos is one of those artists who are particularly well represented in the collections of the MOMus-Museum of Contemporary Art, through works in which he uses traditional sculptural materials. The central concern running through his work is the exploration of the relationship of matter and volume to light and space, and the artist's effort is found in the removal of the raw weight of the material of iron in order to give it another movement. From the initial geometrization of the human figure to the more radical restructuring of the volumes in the large sculptures, Coulentianos invented and revealed sometimes a pulsating sensuality and sometimes an essential internal structure of the sculptural language.
