Rimma Dmitrievna Kuruch (1938–2019) was the pioneer of language planning for Kildin Saami. Together with several native Saami colleagues, she worked out and described the rules defining the current orthographic standard, established teaching in primary schools and published the most comprehensive, up-to-date dictionary of Standard Written Kildin Saami.
