PERANCANGAN MEKANIKAL PROPANE STORAGE TANK

Floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) merupakan sebuah fasilitas terminal penampung LNG dan terdapat fasilitas regasifikasi LNG. Propane storage tank merupakan salah satu peralatan pendukung dalam proses regasifikasi yang berperan sebagai top up propana pada propane loop system. Dalam pengoperasiannya, propane storage tank hanya terpasang satu unit sehingga apabila terjadi kerusakan pada propane storage tank akan menyebabkan proses regasifikasi terganggu. Selain itu, kerusakan pada propane storage tank antara lain low temperature service dimana suhu propana yang minus dapat membuat material rapuh. Lokasi penempatan FSRU yang berada di tengah laut tentunya dapat menyebabkan semua peralatan mengalami atmospheric corrosion yang disebabkan oleh penguapan pada air laut. Penambahan unit propane storage tank diperlukan sebagai unit cadangan. Pada perancangan ini akan membuat propane storage tank dengan diameter 2.000 mm dan panjang shell 4.000 mm. Pada perancangan ini, berdasarkan kondisi fluida dimana termasuk low temperature service dengan suhu desain -45 ?C dan tekanan desain 2.500 kPag. Berdasarkan referensi pressure vessel design manual dan NACE material selection diperoleh material carbon steel SA-537 Cl.2 sebagai material utama. Perancangan propane storage tank mengacu pada ASME Section VIII Division 1 diperoleh ketebalan shell dan head sebesar 20 mm dengan nilai MAWP sebesar 2.666,8 kPa
