Digitalization as a Factor of Economic Growth

The relevance of the study is determined by the fact that digitalization of the economy is becoming an important factor in economic growth, therefore, it is necessary to assess the degree of its impact and assess the possibility of including this factor in economic growth models. The goal is to study the relationship between digitalization and economic growth. Research methods include an abstract-logical approach based on a systematic analysis of the impact of digital technologies on economic growth. The article also provides a correlation analysis of the impact of digitalization indices (network readiness index, inclusive Internet index, mobile connectivity index) on GDP growth rates in Russia. Results: The importance of including digitalization indicators in economic growth models has been identified. An analysis of digitalization factors already included by other authors in the model of economic growth was carried out. Based on the correlation analysis, the author revealed a positive relationship between digitalization indices and economic growth, but larger values were obtained for nominal GDP than real GDP. In the future, it makes sense to do a similar analysis for a longer period of time with more countries to identify indicators most closely related to economic growth that can be incorporated into the growth model.
