A Secure Role-Based Authentication Framework Using IBM Tivoli Access Manager for Enterprise Cloud Environments
View through CrossRef
The rapid growth of enterprise cloud computing has transformed organizational infrastructure, enabling scalable services, distributed applications, and flexible access to digital resources. However, this transformation has also increased security challenges associated with authentication, authorization, identity governance, and access management. Traditional authentication systems are often unable to provide scalable and dynamic access control mechanisms suitable for modern cloud environments. IBM Tivoli Access Manager (TAM) offers a centralized and policy-driven authentication framework capable of supporting enterprise-level security requirements. This paper presents a secure role-based authentication framework using IBM Tivoli Access Manager for enterprise cloud environments. The proposed framework integrates role-based access control, centralized identity verification, policy enforcement, multi-factor authentication, and blockchain-inspired auditing techniques to improve security and operational efficiency. The framework addresses unauthorized access, insider threats, privilege escalation, and data privacy concerns in distributed cloud systems. The study also examines how emerging blockchain-based access control mechanisms can complement IBM Tivoli Access Manager to provide decentralized trust and transparent authentication records. Comparative analysis demonstrates that the proposed model improves authentication accuracy, reduces access latency, enhances scalability, and strengthens enterprise security management. The framework is suitable for cloud enterprises, healthcare systems, IoT-enabled infrastructures, and distributed business applications requiring secure and adaptive authentication services.

Title: A Secure Role-Based Authentication Framework Using IBM Tivoli Access Manager for Enterprise Cloud Environments
