<b>Italian Abstract:</b> I lavori di recupero del patrimonio storico artistico della chiesa di San Vito, recentemente eseguiti, hanno permesso di riscoprire, anche sulla scorta delle informazioni contenute in numerosi documenti, l’identità storico-architettonica di questo importante monumento barcellonese, che si ripropone nel gradevole connubio tra barocco, pitture policrome e pietra calcarea che fu generato dalla simbiosi tra la facies seicentesca e quella settecentesca della struttura e che era stato disperso negli ultimi due secoli.<br><br><b>English Abstract:</b> The jobs of recovery of the artistic historical patrimony of the church St. Vito of Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto (Messina) has allowed to rediscover, on the escort of the contained information in unpublished documents, the historical-architectural identity of this important monument barcellonese, that is proposed in the pleasant match among baroque, paintings policrome and calcareous stone that was produced by the symbiosis between the seventeenth-century facies and that eighteenth-century of the structure and that had been lost in the last two centuries.
