Jeśli obecnie krzyk alarmu oskarżającego postmodernistyczny relatywizm wyrasta z wielu stron i żąda powrotu filozofii do zdrowego realizmu, esej obecny, poprzez uznanie Nietzschego jako praojca tej sytuacji, która stała się oczywistą niemal przed wiekiem, daje nowe odczytanie tak kontrowersyjnego wieku myśli. W ten sposób przedstawiono ogólny kształt tego okresu, odważne poszukiwania, podjęte ponad nihilistyczną rezygnacją oraz nie- metafizyczną tożsamość, w której to rozpoznajemy.
