Impact of Sociodemographic Characteristics on Resilience and Pain Catastrophizing among Chronic Pain Survivors

View through CrossRef
It has been seen in the literature and by the researcher himself in his environment that people who suffer from chronic pain frequently catastrophize about it and drive themselves into more distressing situations. As a result, the researcher attempted to perform a study to determine the resilience relationship with pain catastrophizing and if this relationship is predicted by sociodemographic characteristics like age, gender, family monthly income, physical activity, work status, and pain duration in months. The study revealed a handful of insights that resilience and pain catastrophizing are significantly related to each other negatively. The 3-step hierarchical regression analysis revealed that age, gender, family monthly income, exercise, pain duration in months, and work status significantly predicted pain catastrophizing. Similarly, binary logistic regression was run to check the impact of resilience and pain catastrophizing on the physical activity of the participants, which revealed that resilience positively and pain catastrophizing negatively predicted physical activity in chronic pain survivors
