Conclusion

The conclusions reiterate the book’s overall arguments, concluding that to construct a political theory of cosmopolitanism that will resist criticism, one does not need to advance a conciliatory approach but, paradoxically, to radicalise it, - to alter the values of all currencies – and, through this radicalisation, the legacy of the Ancient Cynics’ militant life for thinking cosmopolitanism is reclaimed. In particular, the conclusions show that radical and militant cosmopolitics is not a new grand narrative with a ‘colonial or imperial intent’, on the contrary, it is co-substantial with the decolonization struggle, since as long as those who gained their national liberation and self-determination remain ‘illegal’ in most parts of the world, decolonisation is a failure. Equally, it shows that militant cosmopolitics is not an avantgarde of the few militating in the name of the whole world. Militant cosmopolitics is for everyone, since everyone can be a militant for another, more just and equal, world in which No One Is Illegal.
