Abstract
Can we find any positive value in death, in which we can take solace? This question of the book is raised through recollection of the author’s confrontation with his mother’s cancer diagnosis. The issue is not whether slowly dying is bad. Nor is it whether we might benefit from some sort of afterlife. Rather, it is whether we can take solace from the fact that we will die.
