Makna Filosofis dalam Upacara Daur Hidup Mitoni di Kabupaten Kebumen

Pregnancy is something that every married woman has been waiting for. Each region has their respective traditions in order to welcome a mother's first pregnancy. In Javanese tradition there is a tradition known as mitoni or tingkeban. Mitoni is a Javanese traditional tradition which aims to ask for safety for mothers and babies to be kept away from bad things. Mitoni comes from the word pitu which means seven. However, it can also be interpreted as pitulungan which means help. The purpose of this research is to help and broaden people's insights about the processes in the mitoni tradition. Besides that, this paper aims to find out the philosophical meaning contained in the mitoni tradition. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive research method, the researcher wants to express as clearly as possible the meaning contained in each process of the mitoni tradition. The results of this study indicate that the mitoni tradition as one of Indonesia's cultural riches has special characteristics that can differentiate Javanese culture from other cultures in Indonesia,
