International Labor Organization Convention No. 189 on Domestic Workers: Should India Ratify It?

The author has made an attempt to answer the question, ‘whether India must ratify the ILO Convention no. 189 on domestic workers?’ The author has divided this paper into six parts. The first part is titled, ‘Introduction’. The second part is titled, ‘Methodology’. The third part is titled, ‘Literature Review’. The fourth part is titled, ‘Summary of Interviews’. The fifth part is titled, ‘Analysis’ and the sixth part is titled, ‘Conclusion’. It is pertinent to note that, for the purposes of this paper, the author has conducted five sets of interviews of full time domestic workers. The interview questions, responses of interviewees and the consent forms are contained in Annexures 1-9.
