MARCUS VINÍCIUS: UM PORTFÓLIO DE MEMORIAIS POÉTICOS

View through CrossRef
(2012) e The visible and the unconscious (2012). Palavras-chave: Performance; corpo; memoriais poéticos; escrita de artista.MARCUS VINÍCIUS: A PORTFOLIO OF POETICAL MEMORIALSAbstractThis portfolio consists primarily of texts rather than images, compiled from the poetic memorials created by the artist Marcus Vinícius (1985-2012) for his works Frágil (2011), Everything imaginable can be dreamed… (2012) and The visible and the unconscious (2012). We seek to apprehend the artist’s creative process, which revealed a highly personal reflection on artistic practice within the field of performance —particularly regarding the transgression of bodily limits explored in long-duration works characterized by the duality of lightness/risk. Here we bring together both the descriptive memorials contained in the initial projects of each work, as well as the poetic-reflective texts resulting from the peformances. The aim is to understand Marcus Vinícius’s writing as an extension of the works and as an essential part of his creative process, thereby expanding the artistic intent articulated in the statement with which he used to present his artistic portfolios in the final phase of his career. Keywords: Performance art; body and performance; poetical memorials; artist’s writing.
