Series Saphir/blue/crystal with Venetian stripes, green with pressed supports. Drawing of Prof. Michael Powolny executed by Joh. Lötz Wwe. In 1918, this special commission came again to a cooperation with the Glashütte Joh. Lion widow. Lobmeyr, in his role as publisher, chose the models of this cabin in Klostermühle, which was specially made for him, because it seemed particularly suitable for this innovative series. Powolny’s twenty or so vases, bowls and cans follow designs of the Venetian glass techniques of the Renaissance period in various variations; applied stripes and mesh filigree, hand-pulled handle, pressed and melted surfaces. The series was presented at the exhibition “Austrian Art Industry” in the ÖMKI 1919.
