Funkcióigés szerkezetek szinonímiája és szinonimaköreik összefüggései

Light verb constructions are usually viewed as idiomatic, fixed patterns in linguistic literature (see, for example, Forgács 2015). However, corpus data show that such constructions may exhibit variability, inviting potential exploration from a synonymy perspective. This is exemplified by constructions like barátságot köt [lit. ‘tie a friendship‘] ~ barátságot sző [lit. ‘weave a friendship‘] ~ barátságot épít [lit. ‘build a friendship‘], all conveying the meaning ‘make friends‘. In this particular case study, I investigate patterns (constructional schemas, in brief: constructions) within the construction N-ba/be ‘into N‘ + V, focusing on constructions such as feledésbe V [lit. ‘become forgotten‘ where feledésbe means ‘into oblivion‘], homályba V [lit. ‘become obscure‘ where homályba means ‘into obscurity‘], and sötétségbe V [lit. ‘become dark‘ where sötétségbe means ‘into darkness‘). More specifically, I analyze vari-ations of these light verb constructions (e.g., homályba vész [lit. ‘be lost into obscurity‘] ~ homályba szürkül [‘fade into oblivion‘]), leading to the identification of synonym groups. My research, primarily utilizing the Hungarian National Corpus 2 [Magyar Nemzeti Szövegtár 2], aims to es-tablish, on one hand, which term(s) may assume centrality within synonym circles based on verb variation and the reasons behind it. On the other hand, it seeks to determine the semantic relationships among the aforemen-tioned three circles of synonymy, exploring motivations for both similarities and differences.
