TEOLOGIA FEMINISTA DA LIBERTAÇÃO (TEOLOGIA INDECENTE) NA OBRA DA TEÓLOGA MARCELLA ALTHAUS-REID

This research aims to study the characteristics that constitute the concept of Indecent Theology, formulated in the year 2000 by theologian Marcella Althaus-Reid. This article seeks to understand and differentiate whether the author is proposing a new theology, Indecent Theology, or whether her text and her Indecent Theology form a critical movement that seeks to bring a new look on marginalized Latin American realities, through observation of the effects that Christian religiosity has on the sexual practices and experiences of women and queer people. As a source of research, we will use the book by Althaus-Reid named “Indecent Theology: Theological Perversions in Sex, Gender and Politics” published in 2000. From the book, the subjects discussed in the introduction shall be discussed, as well as chapter one, entitled “Indecent proposals for women who would like to do theology without using underwear” and also chapter five “Big economic measures: conceptualizing global erection processes”. The periodization of this research is related to the beginning of the 21st century, the moment of the launch of Althaus-Reid's book and the emergence of a new perspective on diversity, democracy and the defense of new identities. This research is related to the articulation between the history of religions, political history and feminism.
