This book conducts a comprehensive comparative analysis of the rules of international arbitration institutions on arbitrator challenges. It clarifies the requirements for arbitrator challenges and puts the procedural framework of arbitrator challenges to the test. In particular, it considers the extent to which the current provisions are suitable for preventing abuse of the process and ensuring an efficient and fair decision on arbitrator challenges. On this basis, it presents specific proposals for reform of both the grounds for challenging an arbitrator and the challenge procedure itself.
