Huang Rui and his city Beijing
View through Artsy
Huang Rui considers his Beijing hutong and street series as a pivotal point in his personal development and a Cubistic exploration of the city in 1980s. He employed vivid and sharp lines to deconstruct the architectural space of hutongs and courtyard houses, forming a personal Cubist painting style of his own invention.
