A Compact Wideband Circularly-Polarized Conformal Load-Bearing Microstrip Antenna Array

This paper presents a compact wideband circularly-polarized conformal
load-bearing microstrip antenna array. The conformal load-bearing
antenna structure is an organic honeycomb sandwich structure. When the
antenna is embedded in honeycomb sandwich structure, conformal
load-bearing antenna is formed. The conformal load-bearing microstrip
antenna array has eight layers. Its dimension is 130mm×90mm×11.8mm.
Electromagnetic performance of the antenna array is simulated in CST
Microwave Studio.The antenna array has simulated -10dB impedance
bandwidth of 2.24GHz(19.25-21.49GHz). The 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth of
the antenna array is 2.24GHz(19.06-21.3GHz). The gains and patterns of
the antenna array are stable in the operating band. The antenna array
also has an excellent mechanical performance.
